Something rich and strange....

Seachange is my favourite Australian show.  It's the perfect end to a week and there's nothing nicer than curling up in front of the television on a Sunday evening.  Yes, Monday approaches in its inexorable fashion, but Seachange is a beatific oasis in a frantic week.

It's the story of how a corporate lawyer decides to throw in the soul-less life in a corporate law firm and go to a backwater town known as Pearl Bay to start her life and herself afresh.

This page is my little tribute to this refreshingly sweet show which can be seen at 7.30pm on the ABC.

Reminiscent of shows like Northern Exposure, Ballykissangel and Due South, it explores how Outsiders view a town, how the townspeople view the Outsider and the gradual process of fitting in to new place.

My favourite characters are Laura Gibson, Diver Dan, Angus, Trevor, Kevin and Karen.  In the new season, I can see that I'm also going to like Max Connors.

I don't have an artistic bone in my body so this is going to be a textual site rather than one which stimulates the visual senses. On top of that, I am awful at proof-reading my own work and have a full-time job that occupies my time from 8am till 8pm (approximately) five a days a week ..... so if you find a typo, please let me know. =)
